5)  REINCARNATION

What I am going to do now is explain another important part of metaphysics. I am not going to try to prove it, just explain it. Evidence for this belief system will come in a later posting.

Reincarnation is part of many belief systems, religions, around the world. In standard metaphysics, it is the belief that we incarnate into many lifetimes in different times and places, with different abilities in each.

Hinduism says different animals, but Buddhism says always human, for us. Following the entity concept, I believe that I am always human.

Let’s go back to the prime causes, the Source Consciousness (SC) needs which are: 1) to understand itself, and 2) to be loved and appreciated. To fulfill those goals, the SC divides itself into nameable entities, and then gives those entities free will.

The soul level of consciousness (3) is the repository of the experiences that each entity accumulates. But in order to have an experience, the soul must incarnate into a physical body in time and space, the lower 3 levels of consciousness. You could say that those levels are the stage on which the plays are conducted.

Metaphysics says that each soul (human for now) must go through every experience possible, learning along the way. Of course with the free will, some of the lifetimes can be retrograde, but eventually every soul will come to a more pure form, closer to the SC.

Many lifetimes are spent with no understanding of the higher levels of consciousness, on purpose. The experiences are more real if we don’t know that we are on stage. There is nothing wrong with that.

However if we do know what is going on, it is easier.

Why easier? Because if we are following the SC path, and each path is different for each person and time and place, it is like drifting downstream instead of fighting our way upstream. The path is called the Tao, and we’ll look at that more closely later.

By the way, “Tao” is Chinese and is pronounced with a “D”, so “dow”.

Soulmate is a concept that pops up at this point. As a soul, we can incarnate in a group. We decide ourselves which lesson or experience we want each lifetime, each incarnation. Of course we need help from other incarnations to provide us the opportunities for learning, some helpful and some hurtful. All a play. So our soulmates interact with us at various points in a lifetime, some friends, some lovers, some enemies.

You can tell who your soulmates are. They are the other people who influence us in some important way.

Of course our father and mother are soulmates, then spouses, some bosses, children, etc., each interacting with us in some way to bring us the set of experiences which we planned on before incarnating. A soulmate could be a lifelong association or a passing individual. But looking back, it is clear who they were.

What about animals? It is said that they are more like group souls. A school of fish is a single soul with not much capability for deviation from their Tao, not that much free will.

I read one time that a species evolves of course by the survival of the fittest, but more importantly, by the survival of the enthusiastic, the thrill of living.

One more thing. The question comes up about if there are a fixed number of souls, how is it possible that there are so many people on the planet right now? Because each soul can decide when and where to incarnate and there is no reason that a soul can’t incarnate in several bodies at the same time, each contributing to the total experiences of the soul. About this I have a question. Have you ever met yourself? I don’t think I have, but it might be hard to tell???

Sometimes male, sometimes female, sometimes beautiful, sometimes ugly, rich/poor, smart/stupid, whatever. The soul chooses before incarnating and the play begins. However, there does seem to be some accumulation of wisdom—there are some decisions that there is an intuitive feel about, not a good path.
